Urgent order in Morocco, a WhatsApp message template to copy

Visitors in Morocco soon notice how much of daily life runs on WhatsApp, and that includes getting something brought to you quickly. There is no app to install and no account to create. When an order is pressing, though, a bare "Hi, are you open?" costs you a whole exchange. Send everything at once and the Livreur 24h team, on call around the clock, can quote and dispatch a courier without coming back with questions. The templates below fit on one phone screen, and they work even if you speak little French or Arabic.
First decide who you should be contacting
Some situations do not belong in a delivery chat. An accident, a serious collapse, someone in danger: for a life-threatening emergency, call the emergency services first. British travel advice on health in Morocco tells visitors to dial 150 and ask for an ambulance. Add the number to your contacts today. A courier is not an emergency responder and gives no medical advice. Questions about a symptom or a treatment go to a doctor or pharmacist.
A delivery emergency is everything else: a prescribed medicine to collect, a meal for someone who cannot go out, an item you have run out of at the worst moment. Here, each minute you save at the start counts.
The order that works
- Start with the word URGENT and the type of request, so the team sees at once what it is dealing with.
- Name the item, including quantity and brand, size or exact dish, and attach a photo where you can.
- Name the shop, or write "nearest one open" if you have no preference.
- Give the full address: neighbourhood, street, building, floor, flat number, riad or company name.
- Share your WhatsApp location and a landmark that is visible at that hour.
- End with the phone number to call on arrival and what you would accept as a substitute.
This sequence mirrors how the reader thinks: what is needed, where to buy it, where to take it. The neighbourhood comes early enough to estimate the fee, which varies with distance and address. If you are unsure whether your area is served, our guide to Marrakech neighbourhoods gives you the landmarks.
Two templates to copy
Swap the brackets for your own details and send the whole block at once. The first is for food:
URGENT, food. 2 chicken meals + 1 water, from [restaurant] or the nearest fast food open. Address: Guéliz, [street], [building name], 4th floor, flat 9. Location sent. Landmark: junction with traffic lights. Call [number] on arrival. Please send price and time.
Use the second for a pharmacy request:
URGENT, pharmacy. Prescription photo attached. Nearest on-duty pharmacy please. Address: Hay Riad, [residence name], block B, 2nd floor. Location sent. If anything is missing, call me before replacing it. Paying in cash. Please send price and time.
Take care over the prescription photo: lay it flat in good light, avoid glare, and keep every line readable to the bottom of the page. It holds health data, so send it only where it is needed. Our city pages cover having a prescription filled in Rabat and pharmacy pickups after dark in Marrakech. If the clock has passed midnight, our tips for ordering in the small hours are worth a look too.
Habits that cost you time
- A burst of short messages, with the address arriving after three prompts and the size after five.
- A long voice note with no written address, which is awkward to replay on the road.
- "Near the hairdresser" as your only landmark, when the salon closes at night.
- A blurred, cropped or crooked photo.
- A silenced phone just as the courier calls from the street.
- Changing the item after you have confirmed and the courier has set off.
If typing is difficult, a voice note is fine. Add the address and location in writing, so the courier has something to check on the way.
Once you have pressed send
You receive the price and estimated time before you confirm. Read the reply, then answer with a short "OK, confirmed". If it matters to you, check that the amount separates the order total from the delivery fee. Average times are 35 to 45 minutes for most meals and 45 minutes to 1 hour for pharmacy items, depending on whether the medicine is available. Both are rough guides that shift with traffic and distance, and our page on how to read a time estimate explains the reasoning.
Get your cash ready next, ideally in small notes, since payment is mainly cash on delivery. Stay reachable. If you are behind a gate or several floors up, come down when asked so the courier does not have to search for you.
When something changes mid-order
Write straight away in the same chat. You can cancel free of charge before the courier heads to the shop; after that, a travel fee may apply under the service's cancellation rules. If an item is missing or wrong when it reaches you, report it immediately on WhatsApp. The team looks at what happened and may correct it depending on the circumstances, through a partial refund, a credit or a new delivery. Save your template in a note with your address already filled in, and your next request will go out in seconds.
